Blog: More pipeline capacity to carry bitumen from Alberta into the US
April 4, 2014

Posted by Ron Daems, President

It was recently disclosed that Canada's largest crude oil transporter, Enbridge, is adding 370,000 barrels per day of capacity to its enormous main line running from Edmonton down to Superior, Wisconsin.

The pipeline now moves 390,000 barrels a day, but could increase to 760,000 barrels a day in 2017. But what's particularly important is that the expanded pipeline will also be geared toward moving heavier oils, which is outstanding news for bitumen developers. The expanded pipeline does not require approval from the White House because it's simply an expansion of an existing approved line. That's great news for Alberta's bitumen producers and their shareholders.

Strata Oil is one of the leading developers of bitumen in the Carbonate Triangle, and has a recoverable resource of 887 million barrels of crude, and a total resource of 3.4 billion barrels. Strata's plan is to produce from it with a proven technology known as cyclic steam. If you're a high-net worth investor, and you haven't already done so, we encourage you to view:
